London-based Irish artist, Lisa Canny, unites her roots in Irish traditional music with her take on pop, RnB and electronica to make an alternative folk music, completely unique to her. Named “Best of 2021” by Sofar Sounds, Canny is at her absolute strongest in a live performance! Expect everything from hard-hitting, banjo-driven-bangers that will speak to your inner most primal creature; to looping-harp and melty 3-part harmony arrangements; to dark, heart-wrenching, brutally-honest acoustic ballads that feel descended from the songbooks of Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling.

Discovered by Miles Copeland (The Police, CIA Records) at a gig in LA Lisa was soon after invited to ASCAPs Annual Songwriters Retreat and introduced to Jodi Marr, who signed her to her first publishing deal with AbFab Artists. As she began to write her own material Lisa found that she was inspired as much by contemporary music genres like pop and electronica as she was the Irish traditional and folk music she was brought up on. Combining these elements, Lisa’s original music is unlike anything else.
