Lucy Kitchen
Lucy Kitchen is an artist devoted to simplicity and finding beauty in music at its core. Stirring away from trends and the modern industry approach, the singer / songwriter, often compared to some of folk’s royalty like Joni Mitchell and Beth Orton, constructs songs heavy on delicacy, emotion and fragility, whilst embellishing them in minimal beats and subtle textures, determined to maintain a musical weightlessness.
As well as her folk driven intimate songs, Lucy has collaborated with a number of electronic artists, lending her writing skills and vocals, and being featured on BBC Radio 1 and Mixmag as a result. She also reached the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition final, giving her the opportunity to perform at the renowned John Peel Stage.
